[00:00:01] So yeah, when I have a thought I gotta let it out It's a bright spot that I can't even doubt My opinions, my point of view Even if things are a little tripped and sweet so, yeah, even if you disagree so, yeah, even if I'm not in your pedagree so yeah, especially if you agree so, so, so, so, yeah. [00:00:39] Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, wherever and whenever you're listening to it. Welcome to the Sew yeah Podcast with your girl, Caroline M. Diamonds. And today we're going to be talking all about the Coachella livestream that I saw saw on Weekend two, because I was not there and I was working this week. And, you know, I think that watching the live stream and watching all, like, the guests that come out, it just reinstated for me how much I like the weekend too. Yeah, Weekend two is just superior. [00:01:19] I think that other people are starting to catch on. But, babe, I've been here. I've been here. So let's get into it. Because I was working Friday and Saturday, I. I couldn't catch like, the as much as the earlier sets, so I kind of clued in around Cat's Eye, which Love my girls. Love my Cat's Eye girls. [00:01:40] But when I was actually there, it was a really hard 5pm slot because it was Cat's Eye and it was Turn Style, which I've talked about on the podcast, and it was Holly Humper Stoke all at the same time. I'm like, well, me for having a vast taste in music. You. [00:01:58] So that was like, not so fun. But I decided to tap into Turnstile Set and Holy, they're electric. They're so amazing. And I still haven't listened to the last two albums, but I will be for sure. Like, I'm definitely like a fan. Baltimore Strong, we love to see it. [00:02:17] We do. I don't think I watched anything until Sabrina set. And my thoughts, unfortunately are kind of the same regarding Sabrina. [00:02:29] It was made for the live stream. And you know, as I heard, as you heard last week, if you watch, if you listen to the podcast, I don't, I don't prefer things that way. Like, I. It's for the viewers that are present experience. And I don't think that the live stream does that. And I also think that because it was so much. It was everything. And the kitchen sink not. But the kitchen sink, but. And the kitchen sink. [00:02:54] And for me, her discography doesn't match that. It kind of was just like, let's throw everything we can because we can. And I love somebody that puts Effort in. Let's not get that twisted. I love somebody that puts effort in, but at the same time, it's like you gotta let talent kind of speak for itself at some point. And I think that she can sing, but I don't think that she's a vocalist. And I think that's the difference for me. When I think of a vocalist, I think of like, I think Beyonce's a vocalist. Whitney Houston is the vocalist. Celine Dion is the vocalist. [00:03:26] She could. And Sabrina can sing, but she's not like a vocalist. And she sounded good, but like. [00:03:32] And I just. I don't. I didn't care. I didn't care. And I. I think that I'm kind of like. Well, I. Now watching that, I was like, oh, we need somebody with 15 years of legendary chart topping hits. Just because you got one song espresso doesn't make you a chart topping mama. Okay, that's one hit. [00:03:56] That's one. I do love that she brought up Madonna. You know, my gay ass was living for that at home. [00:04:03] And Madonna headline and Coachella next year, please. [00:04:07] Either Madonna needs the headline or Miley needs the headline. There's no other options. Unless Dua Lipa comes out with dog album, then she can headline. I've been hearing rumblings of Olivia Rodrigo. [00:04:21] Savannah, slow down. [00:04:23] You have three albums. [00:04:25] You have one chart topping hit. That's it. [00:04:28] We have really lost the plot on who think. Who thinks that they can headline Coachella or not. [00:04:34] Not you. All right. [00:04:36] And that actually takes me into Addison Ray set on Saturday, which I caught a little clips of, and I actually saw the part that she brought at Olivia Rodrigo and I was like, why does Addison Rae sound better than Olivia Rodrigo? [00:04:54] That's not good at all, girl. She was so bad. Like, so bad. [00:05:01] Terrible, actually. Her new song is terrible. [00:05:04] Not a fan. [00:05:06] Not a fan whatsoever at all. [00:05:10] And then when I came home, I watched Pink Panthers set. And again, like, I just love how much she's grown as an artist and I love seeing it. I. I liked it watching it better on the live stream this week because, you know, as I said on the podcast last week, I didn't have a good spot in the crowd, so kind of I kind of lost a lot of details and stuff, but love it. Love the cute little choreo. It's cute choreo. And I think it's perfect for her. [00:05:35] And then I was so tired that I didn't watch Justin Bieber's set, but I did watch a lot of clips. And weekend one was dress rehearsal. That was tech. And weekend two was the performance. He looked so much better. Weekend too. He looked like he was having so much more fun. And I. I always want just him to be happy. I want him to really live. [00:06:04] I live. And I really want him to live so hard. And he was so fine. Like the beaver. It's Bieber influenza now. It's not even Bieber fever, it's influenza. [00:06:15] And he just sounded so good. I also, like, preferred the guests that he brought up this week because the first week he brought out kid Laroi Dijon and then Thames, and then the second week he brought out Big Sean SZA and Billie Eilish was his one less lonely girl. Like, that's catastrophically better than the first weekend. [00:06:36] But I'm so happy for him. And I love that he, like, he's saying, you smile. Like I was crying. I. I literally woke up the next day and I was like, I. [00:06:46] I'm filing a lawsuit against Coachella for this because I should have been there. [00:06:52] I should have been there. The only thing that would have topped the performance was if he got Sean Kingston out of jail and to sing Eenie Meenie, that would be the only thing that he could have done more for me. [00:07:02] And then moving on on Sunday, like, I was. I was rotting all day. So I really just kind of took it upon myself to just watch a lot of different sets and where did I start? [00:07:15] Caught a little bit of oklue set and I've seen her name a lot and I just kind of, you know, I think that's the beauty about the live stream as well is that like, you can. [00:07:24] It's low stakes. You can catch people set, catch a vibe, even if you don't like, like their music or know their music that well. And I actually really liked her. I thought that she was really cute. A lot of auto tune, which I don't have a problem with auto tune. Some people take it up with your mama if you got a problem with autotune. [00:07:39] But I really liked her set. And then I clicked around a little bit. I saw Young Thug, but like he was having so many problems with his in ears for like four songs. I was like, can somebody help this man, please? Because in years were like, I guess falling out or not all the way in or he wasn't turned up. It was a mess, a Messika. And I was like. And click. [00:07:59] And then I watch because Madison I were obviously chatting and she was like, oh, I'm at. I'm watching Mo check. I think it's how you Say, is it Mocheck, Mochak at. At Sahara and living. [00:08:12] I was living. That's some house music down boots. [00:08:16] And I had a really good time watching it. So I was like, oh, add this person to me. My me playlist. [00:08:22] And then I caught a little bit of Sarah Landry set, because Kevin's a huge fan of Sarah Landry. And I thought that she was just like, strictly techno and I was scared. [00:08:32] But actually, I really liked her set. I mean, the first, like, 40 minutes when I was clicking back and forth between hers and mo checks, I was like, oh, I like this. And then like around the 40 minute mark, I was like, and this is where I hang up my boots and my coat because, ow, my brain hurts. And then I was woosawing to the nth degree right before Twigs is set. And she truly is the best artist of this generation currently. Like, she is incomparable. There is nobody out there that is doing it. Like, she is doing it with the performance level that she's doing it with the intention that she's doing, which I think that is very important. Her intention is very, like, authentic because it is a lot of. There is a lot of elements to it. There are is everything but the kitchen sink vibes. Like, she is. She is dancing. There's contemporary, there's vogue, there's crumb, there's sword fighting, there's pole dancing, there is a chain acrobatics. Like, there's so many things which can feel like everything but the kitchen sink. But it all is living in the same universe and it feels very authentic. And it is. [00:09:50] It's perfect. [00:09:52] It's perfect. And you know me, I always have a note. [00:09:57] There will always be a note to be written down by Caroline, and I do not have one for FK Twigs. Styling on a million, choreography on a million, lighting on a million, stage design on a million, performance out of this universe. And I need every single pop girl to watch that performance. [00:10:18] Take it out your pen, get out your paper, take some notes and get it the together. All right? We need our pop stars to be training in the Martha Graham technique. Okay? She was in Martha Graham Company for like, like, a couple performances. Let's get into that. Let's get into that. Maybe some people even need. Who the is Martha Graham? Kill yourself. Okay. Who is Martha Graham? All right, come on, get it together. Know your references. This is the problem with people and, like, this world that we live in now in 2026, it's like we have so much information at our fingertips and we still choose to not do anything with that. You look ignorant. You look ridiculous. You need to know your references. Who's Bob Bossy? Who's Bob Bossy? Literally. What the fuck are you doing? [00:11:09] What are you doing? [00:11:11] Katherine Dunham? Like, let's learn the legends. [00:11:15] Let's learn the Legends. And FK Twigs does that, and I love her for it. [00:11:21] And again, I was sobbing at cellophane. [00:11:25] I was like, okay, let me, like, pull my. Let me try to watch Carol G set. Let me try. [00:11:32] I tried again and again. It was definitely. It was a lot for the live stream rather than for the audience's viewership. [00:11:42] It doesn't do anything for me. I was like, oh, let me watch the water scene. [00:11:52] Just. Okay, not for me. Just not. Not for me. [00:11:57] Not for me. Not saying that it's not great in the world that she's in, but not for me. [00:12:06] And, yeah. So that was. Yay. Coachella 2026. Again. I. I am vying for Madonna or Miley to take that pop headlining slot. I do think that they might, like, put, like, a Bruno Mars in there, but he might. And then we need a band back in. We need to bring the band back together, so we need a band that's in the headlining spot. And I think that two options that I would really like that I could see would be like, paramore or the 1975. Either choices, I think are really strong. [00:12:41] And I said this a couple years ago before she went cuckoo bananas, but I really wanted to see Nicki Minaj in the headlining position. [00:12:49] Not anymore. Crazy cuckoo. [00:12:53] Yeah. And then a couple other people that I think should be on the lineup next year should be, like, Zara Larson, Don Toliver, John Summit. I need to see Tay McCrae in the desert. She's so desert coated to me. I don't know why she's not there. [00:13:07] I could see Robin being there. [00:13:10] Leon Thomas. [00:13:16] Yeah, I. I think that there's. It's gonna be a great next year of music, I hope. I believe. And we'll see what happens next year. But thank you for tuning in for my Coachella content. I'm coming to you with the swiftness, as always. [00:13:32] Just trying to get that. Get the algorithm on my side, baby. Yes. And I also just got a notification the other day that said that I have 500 plays on Spotify, which, I mean, to some people, doesn't seem like a lot, but to me is a lot. And I want to appreciate anybody who's listening to the podcast who've been consistently listening or just tuning in. Now, a fan is a fan and fan me down, baby I love it all. I'll catch you next week. [00:14:00] So, yeah.
